| Mike Buchanan has long been a big fan of live guitar-based music, and for some years he has lived in a town well-known for its live guitar-based music scene, Bedford (England). |

| Before taking up writing for a living, Mike Buchanan had spent most of his working life reducing costs (other than employee-related and property-related costs) for major organisations. |
|
| In 2007 he took a six-month-long sabbatical and wrote his first book, PROFITABLE BUYING STRATEGIES (How to Cut Your Procurement Costs and Buy Your Way to Higher Profits). It is a hardback retailing for £35.00, and is available from the publisher (Kogan Page), good bookstores and online booksellers. It has been distributed throughout the English-speaking world and in January 2010 it was published in a Chinese language version. |
